General Motors Corp. announced its largest recall in more than a decade, notifying owners of 2.46 million midsize cars to return them to dealers for replacement of rear seat-belt anchor bolts. Affected by the recall are: 1989-90 Chevrolet Celebrity; 1989-91 Pontiac 6000; 1989-96 Oldsmobile Ciera; and 1989-96 Buick Century. The recall is the largest for GM since 1984, when it recalled 3.4 million 1978-80 midsize cars because of an axle shaft problem. (AP)
