A jury has recommended a 71-year sentence for a teenager convicted in the shooting of a pizza deliveryman last month.
DeShawn W. James, 19, was found guilty Wednesday of robbery, malicious wounding and using a firearm in a felony. He was sentenced that night. A judge will officially sentence James on Dec. 20.
James' co-defendant, 19-year-old Rico Antonio Wilson, pleaded guilty to the charges earlier this year.
The two were accused of shooting Dale Winkler, 42, in the head on Sept. 24 as he was delivering a pizza in the 1900 block of Greanleaf Drive in the Campostella section.
