George Edward Haynes died Thursday, Oct. 26, 1995.
Mr. Haynes was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and was a member of the Torch Club of Richmond and the James River Art League.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie Newton Haynes; one daughter, Mary H. Whited of Richmond; one son, George E. Haynes Jr. of Massachusetts; three brothers, Julian A. Haynes of Portsmouth, James Haynes and Thomas R. Haynes both of West Virginia; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Remains rest at the Laburnum Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 2110 East Laburnum, where services will be conducted 2 p.m. today. Interment will be 11 a.m. Monday in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth.
