RUSHA A. PHELPS

Mrs. Rusha Anna Phelps, 88, formerly of Norfolk, died at home of heart failure on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 1995.

Mrs. Phelps was born in Rehoboth Beach, Del., a daughter of the late Robert I. and Sallie Hudson. She was a member of Mariner's Bethel United Methodist Church, Ocean View, Del., and member of the Dorcas Circle and United Methodists Women of the Church. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Virginia Chapter (NU)22, Norfolk. Mrs. Phelps was a kindergarten teacher in Norfolk and also a Sunday school teacher and nursery teacher. Her husband, Clifton E. Phelps, died in 1965.

She is survived by a son, retired Capt. Robert E. Phelps, U.S.C.G., of Ocean View, Del.; a daughter, Dinah P. Baldwin of Roanoke, Va.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Thatcher Street, Frankford, where family and friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. There will be an Eastern Star Service at 1:45 p.m. Rev. Alexander Slonin will officiate at the funeral service. Burial will be in the Mariner's Bethel Cemetery, Ocean View. In lieu of flowers, the family requested that contributions be sent to the Building Fund of Mariner's Bethel United Methodist Church, Central & Atlantic Avenues, Ocean View, Del. 19970.
