CARL A. HOECHST

Carl Allen Hoechst, 49, passed away Wednesday evening, Oct. 25, 1995, at Baptist Medical Center - Beaches.

A native of Bethany, Conn., he had resided in Virginia Beach prior to moving to the Beaches area in 1987.

Carl retired in September 1994, as a first class petty officer with the U.S. Navy at Mayport Naval Station. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and was specially assigned to the area involved during the Iranian Oil Embargo. He had received his Bachelor's Degree from Southern Illinois University and was a member of the American Legion, Jacksonville Beach.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Tommie; two sons, Chris, Dennis and his wife, Jessie, all of Jacksonville; his parents, Al and Jean Hoechst, of Eustis, Fla.; two brothers, Bill of Apopka, Fla., and Jack of Eustis; one sister, Jeannie Ronner, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and a grandson, Allen.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, 1995, in the chapel of the Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, Jacksonville, with the Rev. Raymond McCranie officiating. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. in the Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Thomasville, Ga. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2419 South Third St., Jacksonville Beach, Fla., or to the American Legion Post 129, 1151 4th St., Jacksonville Beach, Fla. 32250.
