Floyd Stanford Askew, 66, of Route 1, died Saturday morning, Oct. 28, 1995, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mr. Askew was born in Gates County. The son of the late John Irvin and Mrs. Nellie Mary Askew, he was a retired farmer and a member of Eure Christian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Lillie Rae Chappell Askew; four sons, Craig S. Askew, Reginald E. Askew, Dan M. Askew and Calvin D. Askew, all of Eure; two sisters, Gladys Greene and Katie Stallings, both of Suffolk; three brothers, Cross Askew of Suffolk, H. Glenn Askew and Darden M. Askew, both of Eure; and 10 grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in Eure Christian Church by the Rev. Wayne Gardner. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, in charge. Friends may join the family after the service in the church social hall and all other times at the residence. Memorial contributions may be made to Eure Christian Church.
