SIDNEY CHENMAN

Sidney Chenman, 79, of the 1700 block of Erwin Avenue, died Oct. 30, 1995, in the Veterans Medical Center in Hampton, Va.

Mr. Chenman was born in Vilnius, Lithuania. He served as a member of the United States Army during WW II, and then moved into civil service for the United States Navy as a supply technician for 27 years. He was Jewish by faith and a member of the Beth Chaverim Temple of Norfolk.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Brenner Chenman; one son, Franklin D. Chenman of Norfolk; and one daughter, Miriam Harris of Virginia Beach.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 1995, at 11 a.m. at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk. Officiating will be Rabbi Israel Zoberman and Rabbi Samuel Sobel. A reception will be held following the service at the daughter's home, 1800 Saranac Court in the Lake Placid Section of Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Altmeyer Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
