OLAH B. COOKE

Olah Meador Brown Cooke, 90, died Oct. 31, 1995, in the Albemarle Hospital.

Mrs. Cooke was a native of Athens, W. Va., and the daughter of the late Oscar Dayton and Alma Crews Meador. She was the widow of Jerry L. Brown. Mrs. Cooke was a public school teacher and retired from Belk's. She was a member of Poplar Branch Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Jerry M. Brown of Grandy and James D. Brown of Chesapeake; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Twiford's Memorial Chapel, Elizabeth City, by the Rev. F. Joe Griffith. Burial will follow in the New Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry M. Brown, Highway (NU)158, Grandy.
