Edna F. A. Halpin, 90, a native of Portsmouth, died in Rome, Italy, on Oct. 28, 1995.
Miss Halpin had lived in Rome for many years, working in a home for wayward children, operated by Institute G.B. Taylor. She attended Portsmouth public schools, and was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. For many years, Miss Halpin was a member of Court Street Baptist Church in Portsmouth, where a Sunday school class is named in her honor. Prior to moving to Rome, Miss Halpin worked for the Virginia Smelting Company.
Burial services will take place in Rome.
