LAWRENCE L. RANSDELL

Lawrence L. ``Larry'' Ransdell, 57, of the 1000 block of South Church St., died Oct. 31, 1995.

He was a native of Harrodsburg, Ky., and a retired owner of Smithfield Dry Cleaners. Mr. Ransdell was a member and past commander of American Legion, George F. Dashiell, Post (NU)49. He was a Baptist, and retired after 20 years in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Bateman Ransdell; his mother, Edith Allen Ransdell of Harrodsburg; three brothers, Curtis O. Ransdell and C. Louis Ransdell, both of Harrodsburg, and Kenneth Ransdell of Clinton, Md.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Colonial Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Donald R. Rhoton. Burial will follow in St. Luke's Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home, and at other times at the residence. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Isle of Wight Chapter, Memorial Chairman Mrs. J.L. Rose, 27768 Walters Highway, Walters, Va. 23481, or Isle of Wight Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 97, Smithfield, Va. 23431.
