A runaway Maryland girl who police had been seeking since they arrested her 16-year-old boyfriend on a murder charge Saturday was found late Monday in an Oceanfront motel.
Jane DeCosta, 15, was apparently traveling with Benjamin S. Garris when he was arrested for allegedly shoplifting at an Oceanfront convenience store. Police later learned Garris was wanted for a fatal stabbing in Maryland.
A tipster told Baltimore County authorities that DeCosta was staying at the Virginian Motel Apartments in the 300 block of 24th Street. Baltimore authorities asked Virginia Beach police to pick her up shortly before midnight.
DeCosta has not been charged with any offense. She was turned over to her parents, who took her home, police said. by CNB
