Over the last 20 years, I have been very active helping to take our family business from 10 employees and one location to more than 50 employees in four locations. For this reason I have not taken the time to be very active in politics. I have been very active in Western Branch area civic leagues. I have served Miars Farm Civic League as treasurer and president. I am also active in my church, Aldersgate United Methodist. I have been active in the Churchland Jaycees as well as many business associations.

Party affiliation: Republican

Campaign themes:

The major needs of the 79th District are: In Portsmouth, to solve our growing problem with violent crime that has increased by 320 percent in the last 12 years. When Portsmouth is a safe place to do business again, we will be able to attract the jobs necessary to bring Portsmouth's unemployment numbers into line. In Chesapeake and Suffolk, we need to agree on how to solve the needs brought on by explosive growth. In the whole district we need to put standards into our schools so that our children will be prepared for their future.
