WARNING SIGNALS INSTALLED

Automatic signals warning motorists of approaching trains have been installed at the highway-rail grade crossing on Virginia Route 643. Flashing lights and bells were installed at an estimated cost of $67,700.

Maintenance of a typical warning device averages $2,600 annually. Norfolk Southern pays all costs to maintain warning devices with the exception of five states - Florida, Iowa, Kentucky, North Carolina and Virginia. These states share maintenance expenses. by CNB
