I wonder if Chesapeake Vice Mayor Robert Nance really thought that a $2 rebate would cover the cost of prematurely useless appliances, sink and tub fixtures, declining health of our pets, wear and tear on ourselves and our vehicles as we search for clean, drinkable water.
What we need is logical, intelligent analysis and reasoned decision-making which addresses the problems and challenges faced by our city - not token rebates and political smoke and mirrors that do nothing to improve our city's situation.
It is obvious to me that we citizens of Chesapeake are not getting our money's worth from a childish bunch of council members who cannot work together.
I propose that we vote out all incumbents and keep doing that until we get a group of council members who work together to solve the problems faced by our growing city. At the very least, maybe they could stay out of the way of competent professional managers who, given the proper resources, can address those challenges.
