Betty M. Hewitt, 72, of the 5500 block of Fairwood Lane, died Oct. 31, 1995, in a local hospital.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a native of Cleveland, Ohio. Mrs. Hewitt has been a resident of the Virginia Beach area since 1946.
She was the beloved wife of 51 years of Rufus M. Hewitt; daughter, Gayle Hewitt of Virginia Beach; son, John M. Hewitt of Forest, Miss.; two sisters, Adeline Redditt of Orlando, Fla., and Melva Volmar of DeLand, Fla.; and grandchildren, John M. Hewitt of Morehead City, N.C., Winston G. Snider II of West Chester, Pa., and Tammy Stemple, Kelly Snider and Matthew Snider, all of Virginia Beach; and great-granddaughter, Alexandra Stemple of Virginia Beach.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday by the Rev. Ralph Stalter in Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel. Burial is in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
