DAISEY E. GREGORY

Daisey Edna Gregory, 84, of the 2500 block of Battlefield Blvd., died Nov. 1, 1995, in her residence.

Mrs. Gregory was born in Nashville County, N.C., in 1910. She had been a resident of Hickory for over 50 years, where she and her late husband, Mr. John L. Gregory, were the proprietors of Gregory and Sons General Store. Mrs. Gregory was the daughter of the late Sidney and Sid Cockrell Cooke. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include two beloved sons, John S. Gregory of Chesapeake, Rodger L. Gregory of Virginia Beach; three stepsons, Thomas B. Gregory of Shawboro, N.C., Rupert D. Gregory of Chesapeake, Lucian Gregory of Currituck; brother, Charlie Cooke of Raleigh, N.C.; four beloved grandchildren, John S. Gregory Jr. of Chesapeake, Tracy L. Gregory, Rachel L. Gregory and Anna Parrish, all of Virginia Beach; and one beloved niece, Rachel Norfleet of Chesapeake.

A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Twiford Funeral Home, Great Bridge, on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Tom Mercer officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Elizabeth City. The family will receive friends for a visitation today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
