Tickets are now on sale for ``Dance Magic,'' a variety show by the Lakewood Dance and Music Center of Norfolk staged to benefit the Joy Fund.
The two-hour show, featuring dancers from age 4 to senior citizens, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at Willett Hall.
``This is not a recital,'' said Janet McManus, supervisor of the program. ``It's something the general public of all ages would enjoy.''
The show includes country-western dance, ballroom dance, ballet, tap and jazz.
Through advance ticket sales, the troupe hopes to raise $6,000 for the Joy Fund.
``All proceeds will go to the Joy Fund after expenses are paid,'' said McManus. ``We try to get a lot of our technical equipment donated as much as possible so that we don't have big expenses.''
Appearances will be made by radio personality Gigi Young of ``The Fox'' WAFX-106.9, news anchor Barbara Ciara of WVEC-TV 13, as well as dancers from the Beth School of Dance and the Virginia Ballet Theater.
Tickets are $6. Advance tickets may be purchased from Lakewood Dance and Music Center, 1612 Willowwood Drive, Norfolk, or from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 27-30 at the Gail Harts Dance Co., 3574 Towne Point Road.
No tickets will be sold at Willett Hall. The program is co-sponsored by Ports Events and the Gail Harts Dance Co.
