The contemporary jazz ensemble, Urban Knights, will perform at 8 tonight at Willett Hall.
Guest vocalist will be Maysa, who got her early training with Stevie Wonder and who appeared on the ``Jungle Fever'' soundtrack album.
Maysa also sang with the English jazz-funk group, Incognito, and recorded with the band the album, ``Tribes, Vibes and Scribes.''
The Urban Knights include Ramsey Lewis, who has been a best-selling recording artist for more than 40 years; and Art Porter, a saxophonist who first began performing as a drummer in his father's trio. Porter has recorded two albums - his most recent, ``Straight to the Point.''
The other two members of the ensemble are drummer Omar Hakim, who has played with Sting, David Bowie, Miles Davis and David Sanborn; and Victor Bailey on bass, who has worked with musicians ranging from jazz performer Sonny Rollins to rap's LL Cool J.
Hakim and Bailey also performed as the rhythm section for the Weather Report for three years and toured with Madonna.
Tickets are $13.50 in advance and $15.50 at the door. They are available at all Ticketmaster locations, including the Willett Hall box office or may be charged by phone by calling 671-8100. ILLUSTRATION: Ramsey Lewis
