CITY INSTALLS 2 DROP BOXES FOR PAYMENTS THEY ARE AT CITY HALL AND TOWER MALL.

Two night depository ``drop boxes'' have been installed for payments being made to the city.

One box has been installed on the median strip on Columbia Street next to the City Hall building, and the other at the outside entrance of Tower Mall next to the City Treasurer's office.

The boxes are available 24 hours a day for check or money order payments being made to the City Treasurer, the Commissioner of Revenue and to the Portsmouth Utilities department.

In addition, all Signet Bank branches will accept ``on time'' payments for real estate and personal property taxes and the Portsmouth Utilities Department. After the due date, all payments must be made at City Hall or the Tower Mall offices.

Payments to the drop boxes will be collected on a daily basis. Payments received on or before the due date are considered ``on time.'' by CNB
