Richard Cohan Carter Sr., 78, of the 8000 block of Merritt St., died Nov. 1, 1995.
Mr. Carter, the widower of Grace Virginia Carter, was a retired superintendent for the Hermitage Museum Foundation.
Survivors include two daughters, Diane Vogal of Norfolk, Denise Balance of Virginia Beach; one son, William Henry Carter of Virginia Beach; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, in charge.
