UNEMPLOYMENT IN VIRGINIA

Virginia's 4.5% September unemployment rate was the lowest jobless

for the month of September in five years, said the Virginia

Employment Commission Thursday. Hampton Roads saw its jobless go up

in September to 35,810 or 4.9% because students seeking after-school

jobs entered the work force.
