Bobby L. Block, 35, of the 600 block of Jefferson St., died Oct. 30, 1995, in Maryview Medical Center.
He was a cook for Omni Hospital, where he worked for 18 years. He was a native of Norfolk and a former member of New Mt. Olive Church, Chesapeake.
He is survived by his mother, Ernestine L. Block of Portsmouth; three sisters, Denise Barnes, Subrina Williams and Ludrena Block, all of Portsmouth; two brothers, Michael Block and Shelby Simmons, both of Portsmouth; maternal grandmother, Louise Block; paternal grandmother, Malolia Parker; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends, and a special friend, Eveleen Giles.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday by Bishop Maurice Johnson in Garden of Prayer (NU)4, C.O.G.I.C., Portsmouth. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. today. The family will be at the home of his mother, 400 Phillips Ave., and will assemble there for the funeral service.
