Sadie M. Parker Hodges, 84, died Nov. 3, 1995, at home. She resided on the 100 block of West Handbury Road.
Mrs. Hodges was a native of South Norfolk and Protestant by faith. She retired from the Norfolk Naval Supply Center and was a past grand chief of Pythian Sisters Temple (NU)4 and a member of the El Fatima Santha Temple (NU)17.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, James ``Henry'' Parker and Maurice K. Hodges. Survivors include two daughters, Roma Jean Cathcart of Savannah, Ga., and Trilby E. Culpepper of Chesapeake; one son, James H. Parker Jr. of Virginia Beach; four sisters, Ellen Dozier of Chesapeake, Trilby Dowdy of Portsmouth, Lois Frias of Virginia Beach and Jewel H. VanVleet of Chesapeake; one sister-in-law, Alese McGlaughon of Portsmouth; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to visit the family today from 1 until 8 p.m. at the home on 537 Summit Ridge Drive in Chesapeake. There will also be visitation on Monday, Nov. 6, 1995, from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. at Great Bridge Baptist Church, where the Rev. Charles Moseley will be officiating. Internment will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice. Altmeyer Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
