RALPH W. BUTTS

Ralph Ward Butts, 76, of the 400 block of Westmont Ave., died Nov. 2, 1995, in a local hospital.

Mr. Butts retired after 22 years as a chief electrician from the Navy. He had also retired from Civil Service Base Police and Public Works. He was born in Jones Springs, W.Va., and was a charter member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He was a member of Equality Masonic Lodge (NU)44, Martinsburg, W.Va., the Police Association of Virginia, and Fleet Reserve Association. He was a volunteer at Seavamp. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Reva Miller Butts; two daughters, Lin D. Murphy of San Francisco, and Lorna G. and her husband, Richard Figueroa, of Norfolk; one sister, Ruth M. Butts of Martinsburg; one brother, Therman L. Butts of Clermont, Fla.; and one granddaughter, Amy E. Boyd of Norfolk.

The funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Mark Schroader and Rev. Lucille Dorband. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg, at 2 p.m. Monday. The family will receive friends in the funeral home following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or St. John's Lutheran Church Alter Guild.
