With both Democrats and Republicans fielding candidates in each political race on Tuesday's ballot, cutting through the rhetoric is not easy.
Some candidates will say anything they think voters want to hear, and it's not easy to deal with fierce but meaningless talk. Much of what is promised is not even within the realm of a given office, and voters must decide what is possible and what is not possible on the part of any of those elected.
Voters must listen carefully, ask a few more questions if they are having a problem with a candidate's promises. There is no foolproof method of judging a candidate, but it is important for citizens to do the best they can.
Voting takes but a few minutes of the day. The polls are open all day, from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m., before most people go to work and after they get off in the afternoon.
It's important for each person to demonstrate interest in the elections by going to vote on Tuesday. Nothing encourages bad candidates more than low voter turnout. by CNB
