From the numerous telephone polls that I have received during the past two months regarding the 87th District Virginia delegate race, I assume that it will be a close race between Howard Copeland and Thelma Drake.
I was assured that it would be a close race when I received the extremely negative flyer in the mail from the Republican Party of Virginia, blaming every ill in society except the last hurricane on Howard Copeland. Its graphics and text portrayed him as an evil sorcerer who is ``against better and safer schools.'' I hope others also find these types of statements insulting to their intelligence.
I plan to let my vote count for positive change and not support negative campaigning.
