HERBERT MARSHALL

Herbert ``J.C.'' Marshall, 69, has gone to be with his beloved wife, Patty June Marshall, on Nov. 3, 1995.

Mr. Marshall was born in Portsmouth and was the son of the late Herbert Sr. and Edna Dail Swan Marshall. He was a retired master carpenter from the Associated Naval Architects, Portsmouth. He was a member of Uzzell's United Methodist Church, a Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of Moose Lodge 898, Portsmouth Chapter.

He is survived by two sons, Duane Marshall and his wife, Deborah, of Chesapeake, Gary Marshall, and his wife, Kathy, of Zuni; a daughter, Roxanne Marshall and Rusty Pope of Zuni; a sister, Lorraine Manley of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Melanie, Duane, Kelley, Tim; two great-grandchildren; and a niece, Terry Wilhelm.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, 1995, in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, by the Rev. John R. Jones Sr. Burial will be in Uzzell United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
