Margaret Wiggins Powell, 72, of the 200 block of W. Constance Road, died Nov. 3, 1995, in Obici Memorial Hospital.
She was a homemaker and a native of Gates County, N.C. She was the widow of William Jesse Powell Sr., and belonged to First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maggie Byrd Wiggins and J.L. Wiggins.
She is survived by two daughters, Terrie P. Dillard of Suffolk, and Vickie P. Boyce of Boykins; two sons, William J. Powell Jr. and Raymond Frank Powell, both of Suffolk; sister, Emma W. Baxter of Virginia Beach; half-sister, Mamie Turner of Suffolk; brother, Eddie Wiggins of Winton, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday by the Rev. Charles W. Thompson in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. and at other times at the home of her son, 752 Buckhorn Drive. Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, in charge.
