RAYMOND A. BATTENFIELD

Raymond Ambrose Battenfield, 67, of the 5800 block of Frament Ave., died Nov. 2, 1995, in a local hospital.

He was a manager at Kimnock Ford for 14 years and most recently was an independent car dealer. He retired after 20 years in the U.S. Navy as a Boatswain Mate 1. He was a native of Snyder, Okla.

He is survived by his wife, Mary L. Battenfield; daughter, Marilyn Meath of Norfolk; son, Donald R. and his wife, Barbara Battenfield of Norfolk; two sisters, Otholee Vargas of Kansas, and Janisue Riggs of California; brother, W.D. Battenfield of California; and three grandchildren, Tyler Meath, Kasey Battenfield, and Brady Battenfield.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday by Scott Rimer in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, with Military Honors. Burial will be private. Donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
