People waited in the cold morning air outside Lewis Hall at EVMS on
Saturday where a Coats for Kids giveaway was taking place. Jimmie
Drewitt, 5, left, snuggles under his father, Tony's, shirt while
Toheryl, 2, clings to his mom Cheryl and 6-month-old Jimeryl lies
bundled in her stroller. Coats for Kids is an annual event in which
EVMS students team up with several local businesses to solicit
donations of winter coats for distribution to needy children
throughout Southeastern Virginia. Saturday was the first giveaway;
another Coats for Kids giveaway will take place on November 18 from
9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
