A 23-year-old Virginia Beach man was charged with having a firearm on school property after a weapon was found in his car.
About 9:45 p.m. Friday, during a football game between Tallwood and Green Run high schools, police officers Chris Hession and Dan Lindemeyer of the Fourth Precinct crime suppression unit were patrolling the parking lot at Tallwood.
One of the officers saw a 9 mm handgun on the floor of a car. They staked out the car and confronted the driver when he returned to the vehicle after the game.
Lamargo A. Wilder of the 500 block of Delk Court was arrested without incident. He was being held in the city jail Saturday night in lieu of $5,000 bond.
