ARCHITECTURE
Gary L. Kelley and John F. Martino have joined the TAF Group, a Virginia Beach based design/build firm. Kelley has joined the firm as vice-president/chief estimator and Martino as vice president/senior project manager in the construction division. Both were previously with Forterra Corp., the TAF Group construction division's predecessor firm.
DAY CARE
Nancy S. Brandon has joined the management team at the Mustard Seed Child Care Center as director. The day care center is in the Talbot Park section of Norfolk. She was formerly with the Ashley River Creative Arts Elementary School in Charleston, S.C.
Also, Debra A. VanSickle was appointed assistant director at the Mustard Seed Child Care Center. She has been with the center 2 1/2 years.
HEALTH CARE
Dr. Anthony C. Cetrone, a specialist in occupational and industrial medicine, was named medical director for Now Care Medical Center III in Newport News, which opened Oct. 30. He most recently served as the medical director for the occupational medicine department at Mary Immaculate Hospital and the Mary Immaculate MedCare Centers on the Peninsula.
Dr. Pamela Morgan has joined Dr. Christopher Hamlin in the practice of pediatric dentistry in Norfolk. She will treat toddlers, children and teenagers with particular emphasis on children with special needs. Prior to this, she was an associate professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Tennessee School of Dentistry and maintained a private practice in Memphis.
HOSPITALITY
Kal Kassir, a Virginia Beach restaurateur, was elected chairman for 1996 by the Virginia Hospitality & Travel Association. Kassir is owner of the Corner Market Restaurant in Virginia Beach. He was also recently appointed by Gov. George Allen to the Tourism and Travel Services Advisory Board.
LAW
Victoria J. Barnes, Cynthia E. Cordle and Richard H. Ottinger were named associates with the Norfolk firm of Kaufman & Canoles. Barnes is a 1995 graduate of the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond. She will practice in the health care area of the commercial section. Cordle is a 1995 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law. She is a member of the litigation section. Ottinger is a 1995 graduate of the Marshall-Wythe School of Law of the College of William and Mary. He is also a member of the litigation section.
Christine H. Buchanan was named an associate of the Norfolk firm of Hofheimer, Nusbaum, McPhaul & Samuels. She will practice in the areas of wills, estates and trusts and general civil litigation. She formerly served as a law clerk to the Honorable Barbara Milano Keene, Justice of the Supreme Court of Virginia, from 1993 to 1995.
Mark S. Smith was named a partner at the Virginia Beach firm of Christie & Kantor. He will specialize in criminal and civil trials and domestic relations. He was a former partner with Croshaw, Beale, Hauser & Lewis in Virginia Beach.
Darrell A. Drinkwater has become associated with the firm of Pender & Coward in Virginia Beach. He will concentrate in civil litigation. Drinkwater is a recent graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law.
Glenn R. Croshaw was named a partner with the Virginia Beach firm of Willcox & Savage. He specializes in litigation, probate law, and family and administrative law. Croshaw is a former partner with of Croshaw, Beale, Hauser & Lewis in Virginia Beach.
MANUFACTURING
Betsy Cridlin was promoted from product manager to director of marketing at First Colony Coffee & Tea Co. in Norfolk. She has been with the company since 1992 and will be responsible for all marketing activities within the company.
ORGANIZATIONS
Roger J. Giesinger was named president and chief negotiator of the Hampton Roads Shipping Association. He has replaced Johnnie J. Johnson. Giesinger joined the organization after serving as deputy executive director for the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority.
