CATHERINE P. CAMPEN

Catherine Pruden Campen, 88, died Saturday in Britthaven Nursing Home.

A native of Suffolk, Mrs. Campen was a daughter of the late John Henry and Mary Lucy Pruden and the wife of the late Henry Allison Campen. Mrs. Campen was a homemaker and a member of the Edenton Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Catherine C. Field of Edenton and Ida C. Odom of Smithfield, N.C.; a sister, Emma Pruden Bond of Edenton; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Allison Campen Fennell.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Beaver Hill Cemetery by Dr. Kenneth Word. The family will be gathering at the home of Mrs. Betty Ward, 611 North Broad St. in Edenton. Evans Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
