MARVIN E. DEAL SR.

Marvin Earl Deal Sr., 86, of the 2000 block of West Road, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 1995, in a Chesapeake retirement home.

Mr. Deal was born in old Norfolk County and was the son of the late Mary Estelle Matthews Deal and John Frank Deal Jr. He was the widower of Bernice Smith Deal. Mr. Deal had been an ordnanceman at the Naval Ammunition Depot and had also owned a service station in the Oak Grove section of the city before retiring as a farmer.

Survivors include his two daughters, Gwen D. Forehand of Chesapeake and Linda D. LaRowe of Auburn, Ind.; his three sons, Raymond E. Deal of Chesapeake, Carlton S. Deal and Marvin E. Deal Jr., both of Virginia Beach; four sisters, Alice Stroud and Marjorie Godfrey, both of Chesapeake, Laura DeGrazio of Rome, N.Y. and Margaret Morris of Columbia, N.C.; four brothers, William F. Deal and Noah Deal, both of Portsmouth, Ervin E. Deal of Gloucester and Henry Deal of Chesapeake; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, with Elder William S. Utley officiating. Burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
