James G. Eppes Sr., 72, died Nov. 6, 1995, in local hospital.
Mr. Eppes was born in Norfolk, and was a retired engineer for C&P Telephone Company, with 48 years of service. He was a member of Talbot Park Baptist Church in Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife, Cleo L. Eppes; a daughter, Mary Eppes Martin of Norfolk; two sons, James G. Eppes Jr. of Charlotte, N.C., Roy L. Eppes of Houston, Texas; his mother, Gertrude Eppes; a brother, Robert B. Eppes of Richmond, Va.; five grandchildren, Bryan Lawrence Eppes, Gregory Paxton Eppes, Tyler Grant Eppes, Jett Alexander Eppes and Blake Edward Eppes.
A chapel service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, 1995, at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Norfolk Chapel by Dr. Harry T. Dixon Jr. and the Rev. Keith Martin. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home. H.D.
