Jack Rawson, of Bennett's Creek Landing, died Monday, Nov. 6, 1995.
Jack was born in Roanoke, graduated from Newport News High School in 1943, and after service in the U.S. Navy, graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1949. He retired as comptroller for STCASH Builders, Inc., of Virginia Beach in June 1995.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Attig Rawson; two daughters, Mary Jo Rawson and Susan Rawson Rose and her husband, Ronald; one stepson, H. Franklin Rogers Jr.; a sister, Joan Fulton and her husband, Blair; one brother, Arther F. Rawson Jr., U.S. Navy retired, and his wife, Patricia; a grandson, Adam Rawson Rose; two step-grandchildren, Stacy Rogers and Christopher Rogers.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 621 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Christopher J. Haydinger. Viewing will be at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel, Suffolk, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Viewing will be at the church from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, preceding the mass. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Williamsburg Memorial Park by Dr. Roger Jackle. Contributions may be made to the building fund of Prince of Peace Catholic Church or St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Suffolk.
