The race, one of the longest this year, is being sponsored by the city's Fraternal Order of Police.
The race will begin and end at FOP Lodge No. 8 at 961 S. Birdneck Road. The course will take runners on Birdneck and Prosperity roads and then along General Booth Boulevard to the Oceanfront. The course returns to the lodge through Camp Pendleton.
Runners can register by mail or can stop by the FOP lodge Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. to sign up. Race-day registration begins at 7 a.m.; the cost is $14.
