A woman was killed in a two-car crash Monday after she lost control of her car on Mount Pleasant Road around 2:30 p.m., police said.
Police spokeswoman Elizabeth Jones said a white two-door Pontiac was traveling east on Mount Pleasant when the car left the roadway near Bellpage Avenue.
The car swerved back onto the road and was hit by a pickup truck traveling west. The driver of the Pontiac, whose name wasn't released, died at the scene.
The pickup driver, who Jones identified as Robert Hamilton, 28, of the 1900 block of Bernstein Drive in Virginia Beach, suffered minor injuries and was treated at Chesapeake General Hospital.
The crash is under investigation. No charges have been filed.
