Police are investigating the city's 34th homicide of the year. A 19-year-old man died Sunday night when he and another man were shot as they walked in the 1900 block of Jefferson Ave.
Mercury Morgan, of the 1100 block of Barbour Drive, was pronounced dead at the scene when police responded to Jefferson Avenue shortly after 9 p.m.
The other man, whose name was not available, was taken to Maryview Hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg.
Both were shot when they were approached by a group of men, said police spokeswoman Amber Whittaker.
