There has been a lot of news about the problem of disposing of nuclear waste. Couldn't it be stowed into a huge space shuttle and routed back into the sun from which I'm told it originated?
There would be no need for expensive instruments usually needed for out-in-space experiments, just a guiding instrument to aim at the sun and keep the shuttle on course.
From what I've read, we would have this problem for hundreds of years at an enormous cost. There must be some reason this is not being considered, but I am not aware of it.
