CHARLES A. DIGGS

Charles Alfred Diggs, 81, of the Bonney Road Hill Haven Holmes Nursing Center, died Nov. 5, 1995. He was a native of Richmond. Mr. Diggs was the widower of Freda B. Diggs.

Mr. Diggs was part owner, sales representative and retired from Thornton Sales Service. He also served as a hospital corpsman in the U.S. Navy during World War II and afterwards was employed by Kelley Springfield Tires in Cumberland, Md., and he was Kelloggs Cereal Corporation top salesman for five years.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte D. and Dan. W. Samek III; two grandchildren, Dan W. Samek IV and Sandra Michelle Samek, all of Virginia Beach; his sister, Marie Dunlap of Charlotte, N.C.; and his brother, John ``Jack'' Diggs of Rockville, Md.

Family will receive friends 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Road, Richmond. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Westhampton Memorial Park, Richmond.
