Joseph Pryor Funk Sr., 81, formerly of Norfolk, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 1995.
He was a native of Prince George, and son of the late William Henry and Josephine Clark Funk Sr. Mr. Funk was a retired employee of A & P Grocers.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Wiseman Funk; a son, Joseph P. Funk Jr. of Chesterfield; a sister, Catherine Pollock of Prince George; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Robert M. Spencer officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. A Christian Wake will be held today at 7 p.m. in the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home with the family receiving friends until 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
