Michael Don Pelton, 34, of the 2900 block of Barclay Ave., died Nov. 7, 1995, in his residence.
He was a master carpenter for the Carpenter's Local Union (NU)613. Mr. Pelton was a native of Portsmouth and was formerly a member of Smithfield Jaycees.
He is survived by his mother, Gail M. Miller of Chesapeake; stepfather, Zeb H. Miller Jr. of Chesapeake; five sisters, Laura Pelton of Houston, Texas, Kelly Sanchez of Norfolk, Sandra Phillips of Chesapeake, Lisa Setchel of Colespoint, Va., Deanna Hassell of Portsmouth; brother, Richard Miller of Chesapeake; grandmothers, Alice Daigle of Chesapeake, Ann Patterson of Dallas, Texas; grandfather, John Evanchik Sr. of Suffolk; and 12 nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at noon Friday by the Rev. Douglas D. Gestwick in Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters.
