GENE H. TATEM

Gene Holloway Tatem, 65, of the 700 block of Hassell Drive, died Nov. 8, 1995, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Mr. Tatem, a retired meat cutter and USDA meat inspector, worked for Big Star Stores for 35 years. He was a native of Norfolk County and a member of Colonial Baptist Church, Chesapeake. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Winslow Tatem; one daughter, Kristy Tatem Weatherly of Kernersville, N.C.; his father, Howard V. Tatem of Chesapeake; and two grandchildren, Gregory and Kevin Weatherly of Kernersville. He was predeceased by his mother, Earline Glover Tatem.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Colonial Baptist Church, Chesapeake, by Pastor Daniel Keith Davey and Pastor Keith Davey. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will be at Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
