Anna Bethea Evans died Nov. 7, 1995, in her home. She was born Aug. 1, 1920, in Mount Olive, N.C.
Mrs. Evans received her nurses training from Goldsboro Memorial Hospital in 1941, working until her retirement in 1965 as a registered nurse. She was a member of Berkley Chapter (NU)52 Order of the Eastern Star of Virginia, serving as worthy matron in 1961 and 1962. Mrs. Evans was married to Preston J. Evans Sr. on Nov. 20, 1941, having had 50 years together before his death in 1991.
She is survived by her three sons, Jack Evans and his wife, Kay, Donald R. Evans, Alan Evans and his wife, Mandy; and four grandchildren, Barbara, Geoffrey, Katherine, and Roy Evans.
There will be a graveside service Saturday, Nov. 11, 1995, at 10 a.m. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is handling arrangements. In lieu of a viewing, the family will be at the residence from 6 to 8 p.m. today, and Friday at 1905 Horseshoe Bend, Virginia Beach.
