Ophelia ``Mickey'' Matthews, of the 1400 block of Shank St., died Nov. 6, 1995, in her home.
She was born Jan. 2, 1937, to the late Lewis H. Scott Sr. and Willie Mae Scott. She was a retired cook from Penny's Restaurant. She was a native of Norfolk and educated in the Norfolk School System.
Survivors include five daughters, Josie D. Matthews, Adrian D. Matthews, Patricia A. Matthews, Tawana F. Matthews, Sharon D. Matthews, all of Norfolk; three sons, Bryan Keith Matthews, Robert Jerome Matthews, both of Norfolk, Anthony ``Tony'' Matthews of Richmond; three sisters, Virginia Sawyer, Lillian Dykes, Senora Williams, all of Norfolk; four brothers, Clarence F. Scott Sr., James A. Scott, both of Norfolk, Joseph C. Scott of Atlanta, Thomas L. Scott of Norfolk; 21 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Friday in New Hope United Church of Christ, 145 E. Liberty St., Norfolk, by the Rev. James W. Anderson. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Norfolk.
