Elizabeth Pulley Ashby, 81, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 1995, in East Pavilion, Franklin.
Mrs. Ashby was born in Southampton County and was the daughter of the late Lloyd Clarence and Rose Bradshaw Pulley. She was a member of the Courtland United Methodist Church, the Mary White Cobb Circle and the Nottoway River Women's Club.
She is survived by a son, Freddy B. Ashby Jr. and his wife, Rita; and two grandchildren, Jennifer and Brandon; a daughter, Anne A. Babb and her husband, B. Emmett; and two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Frances. Other survivors include two brothers, R. Bradshaw Pulley of Virginia Beach, J. Reid Pulley of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two sisters, Carolyn P. Pulley of Virginia Beach and Anna Belle P. Sullivan of Winchester. She was the sister of the late Marsden L. Pulley of Ivor, Dr. David C. Pulley of Greenville, S.C., Franklin P. Pulley of Richmond, Rose Pulley Brantley of Ivor, and Marion P. Broocke of Boykins.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 1995, in the Courtland United Methodist Church by the Rev. John M. Wimer and the Rev. Tommy Lee. Burial will be in Ivor Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Anne A. Babb, 23415 Wyanoke Lane, Courtland. Memorial donations may be made to the Courtland United Methodist Church or the Courtland Volunteer Rescue Squad. Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield is handling arrangements.
