JOSEPH E. FEDOR

Joseph Edward Fedor, 86, of the 400 block of Amelia Ave., died Nov. 7, 1995.

Mr. Fedor, a native of Mahanoy City, Pa., was the son of Victor and Anne Yesinski Fedor, and was the widower of Norah M. Fedor. He was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph F. Fedor.

He was retired from the U.S. Navy as a chief quartermaster after 30 years of service. He later worked as a sales rep for Bazar Inc., and as manager of the Columbia Corp. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 418, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, BPO Elks 82, and Fleet Reserve Branch 40, where he was the Americanism chairman for several years.

Survivors include a daughter, Maureen Ann Laster and her husband, Sam, of Portsmouth; a daughter-in-law, Patricia J. Fedor of San Diego; five grandchildren, Michele M. Riddick of Portsmouth, Brian C. Riddick and his wife, Gigi, of Chesapeake, Amanda S. Laster of Portsmouth, Pamela J. Johnson and Joseph F. Fedor, both of San Diego; and two great-grandchildren.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Paul's Catholic Church by the Rev. Joseph S. Slowik. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. today in Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth, followed by a Fleet Reserve service. Please omit flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Fleet Reserve Branch 40 Americanism Award Fund; or Knights of Columbus 418 Scholarship Fund.
