A tornado touched down in this Hatteras Island community at 7:52 p.m. Tuesday, Dare County Sheriff A.L. ``Bert'' Austin said.
The twister overturned a small trailer in Hatteras Sands Campground. Although one or more people were inside the trailer, no injuries were reported, Austin said.
High winds also felled a pine tree in Frisco, where branches crushed a car parked in a driveway. No one was hurt in that accident either, Austin said.
``There's going to be a lot of limbs falling like that as the winds pick up,'' he said. by CNB
