The names of two candidates for office in Ahoskie were misspelled
in Tuesday and Wednesday's North Carolina section of The
Virginian-Pilot. Dave Simons lost a bid for mayor, and Doug Brinkley
was elected to the Town Council from District A.
Unofficial vote totals included in Wednesday's North Carolina
section of The Virginian-Pilot gave an incorrect number for Nags
Head Board of Commissioners candidate Charles ``Chuck'' Thompson. He
received 163 votes during Tuesday's election.
